Refund Policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

We want LifeScope to earn its place in your life. If it doesn't, leaving should be easy and fair. This page explains how. Nothing is charged during early access; this is how it works once paid plans open.

The short version

  • Free trial: cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
  • Yearly plans: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of being charged. That includes the charge when your plan renews.
  • Monthly plans: cancel any time. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for.
  • Founder place: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of paying.
  • Your legal rights always come first. Nothing on this page takes them away.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time, from Settings once paid plans open, or by emailing support@lifescope.co.nz. You don't need to give a reason.

When you cancel, your plan stops renewing. You keep your paid features until the end of the period you've paid for. After that your account moves to the Free plan. Your data stays, and you can ask us for a copy of it or delete it whenever you like.

Deleting your account also cancels your subscription.

The free trial of Plus

The Plus trial lasts 48 hours. We take your card details when you start, but we don't charge you during the trial.

  • We email you when the trial starts and again about a day before it ends. Both emails show the price and how to cancel.
  • If you cancel before the trial ends, you are never charged.
  • If you don't cancel, we charge you for the plan you chose when the trial ends. If you chose a yearly plan, the 14-day refund below applies to that charge.
  • One free trial per person.

Yearly plans

Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it in full. No questions asked. This applies to your first payment and to every renewal.

We email you 30 days before your plan renews, with the date, the price and how to cancel.

After 14 days, we don't give change-of-mind refunds for the rest of that year. You keep full access until the year ends. This doesn't affect your rights under the law (see below).

Monthly plans

Cancel any time. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part-months.

We send you a reminder at least every 6 months with your plan, its price and how to cancel.

Founder places

A founder place is one payment for everything in Pro for as long as LifeScope runs.

  • Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of paying and we'll refund it in full.
  • After 14 days, we don't give change-of-mind refunds. Your rights under the law still apply.
  • What "for life" means. It means for the life of LifeScope, not your lifetime. We plan to be here a long time, but we can't promise the business will run forever.
  • If we ever close LifeScope, we will give you at least 90 days' notice and a way to get a copy of all your data. If we close within 3 years of your founder payment, we'll refund the unused part, worked out as if your payment covered 36 months.
  • If LifeScope is sold, keeping founder places will be a condition of the sale.
  • A founder place is personal to the account it was bought for and can't be transferred.

Pro features still being built

Some Pro features are still being built. The pricing page marks each one Coming.

If a feature that was marked Coming when you bought Pro isn't live within 12 months of your first Pro payment, you can choose:

  • Yearly Pro: a refund for the unused whole months of your current year, or a move to Plus with the difference in price refunded.
  • Monthly Pro: cancel any time, as always.
  • Founder place: a full refund of your founder payment, if you ask within 60 days after those 12 months are up.

Early-bird prices

If you claimed an early-bird price, you keep it for as long as your subscription continues without a break, even if our prices go up.

If your subscription ends, the early-bird price ends with it. A subscription ends when a cancelled plan reaches the end of its paid period, when we refund it, or when a payment fails and isn't put right within 14 days. If you cancel and then change your mind before the period ends, you keep the early-bird price.

Changing plans

  • Moving up (Plus to Pro, or monthly to yearly) happens straight away. We credit the unused part of your old plan against the new one.
  • Moving down (Pro to Plus, or yearly to monthly) starts at your next renewal date.

Price changes

If the price of your plan goes up, we email you 30 days before it applies to you, with the new price and how to cancel. Early-bird and founder prices are not affected.

Your rights under the law

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the law where you live. That includes the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 in New Zealand, the Australian Consumer Law, and the consumer laws of your US state.

If LifeScope doesn't work as it should, you may be entitled to a fix, a refund or compensation, whatever the time limits on this page say. Tell us and we'll put it right.

How to ask for a refund

Email support@lifescope.co.nz from the address on your account, and tell us which payment it's for.

  • We reply within 2 business days.
  • Approved refunds go back to the card you paid with, in the currency you paid in, including any GST or sales tax.
  • Your bank usually shows the refund within 5 to 10 business days.
  • If your card has expired or been replaced, your bank normally passes the refund to your new card. If it can't, we'll arrange another way to pay you.

If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first. It's usually faster than a card dispute. Your right to dispute a charge with your bank is not affected.

Fair use

Refunds are for people who tried LifeScope in good faith. If someone repeatedly buys and refunds, we may decline further change-of-mind refunds. This never affects rights under the law.
