What this is

LifeScope is a planning tool that models your finances forward in time based on figures you enter, to give you a rough picture of your future and what would change it. It's a calculator, built for exploring "what if" scenarios.

Not financial advice

Nothing in this app is financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. The figures shown are estimates based on assumptions you control and simplifications the model makes. They are not a guarantee or prediction of your actual financial future. Before making a real financial decision, speak to a qualified, licensed professional.

Provided as-is

This is an early-stage tool, actively being built and changed. It's provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and may contain errors, bugs, or downtime. Use it at your own discretion, and don't rely on it as your sole source of truth for a financial decision.

Who can use it

You need to be 18 or over to create an account.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for what happens under your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This is immediate and permanent.

While you're signed in, the plan you're working on is kept on your account so it follows you between your devices, and can be turned off in Settings. That copy is a convenience rather than a backup: we don't undertake to retain it, and it is replaced each time you make a change. Plans you save explicitly are the ones meant to be kept. See the privacy policy for what this means for your data.

Paid plans, early-bird prices and founder places

Nothing is charged during early access. When paid plans open, these apply, together with the refund policy, which says how cancelling works and when you can have your money back.

• The Plus trial. You can try Plus free for 48 hours. We take your card when the trial starts, email you a day before it ends, and charge the card when it ends unless you cancel before then. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.
• Early-bird prices are for anyone on the waitlist, or with an account, before paid plans open. They must be claimed, by starting a subscription at that price (a trial counts), within 14 days of paid plans opening; we'll email you the exact date. Claimed in time, the price stays for as long as that subscription does. If it ends, the early-bird price ends with it, and a later subscription is at the price of the day. A subscription ends when a cancelled plan reaches the end of the period paid for, not when you cancel, so changing your mind before then keeps the price. Not claimed in time, it lapses.
• Pro can be bought from the day paid plans open. Features marked Coming on the pricing page are still being built. They are added to Pro as they are finished, at no extra cost. If one isn't live within 12 months of your first Pro payment, the refund policy says what you can choose.
• Founder places. There are 200, each paid for once and numbered. Places 1 to 100 are sold at one price and places 101 to 200 at a higher one, both shown on the pricing page; the price you pay is the one for the number your place is given. They are offered to people on the waitlist for the first 48 hours after paid plans open, then to everyone, and close when early-bird prices do, or sooner if all 200 are taken. A founder place includes everything in Pro for as long as LifeScope runs, and is personal to the account it was bought for. The refund policy says what happens if LifeScope closes or is sold.

Acceptable use

Use this app for its intended purpose: modelling your own financial planning. Don't attempt to access another person's data, disrupt the service, or use it in a way that could harm the service or other users.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this app, including decisions made based on figures it shows you.

Changes

These terms, and the app itself, may change over time. If a change is significant, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Nothing in them takes away a right you have under the consumer law where you live.
